Bio

Ever since being introduced to the San Francisco underground electronic dance movement his senior year at Stanford University, Corey has immersed himself in dance music culture. After experiencing the Love Parade in Berlin in 1992 with 500,000 people during a post college European tour, he decided to promote parties on South Beach upon his return home, and eventually opened his own nightclub there in the early 90’s.

“The Id”, located in a 6000 sq ft warehouse south of 5th street, witnessed some historic nights in the Miami night life scene and featured world famous DJ’s like Sasha, Kimball Collins, Sven Vath, and Doc Marten, as well as bands like Dee-Lite. His entrepreneurial interest turned to DJ’ing himself in 1997, when he bought his first set of turntables upon moving to NYC.

An avid music lover and dedicated DJ now for 15+ years, Corey enjoys spending far too many hours in his home studio, playing for friends, house parties, and also at larger events where he caters to a diverse audience. Word has it that the derivation of DJ Corpheus comes from him being obsessed with the movie, ‘The Matrix’, which he claims to have seen over 200 times.

Favorite Morpheus Quotes:

“I’m trying to free your mind, Neo. But I can only show you the door. You’re the one that has to walk through it.”

“Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.”

“There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.”
